ARB 202 - Arabic Language & Culture IV 4 Credit(s)
Follow-up to ARB 201 . Precise and coherent use of Modern Standard Arabic language through development of the speaking, reading, writing and listening skills; more focus on syntax, morphology, and grammar. Students will take part in meaningful, functional communication that might be encountered in real life complex situations. Varied reading and writing activities representing cultural topics will be included. Media Arabic will be introduced.
Prereqs: ARB 201 with a passing grade Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote, Online Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will apply listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills in the target language to communicate effectively in real-world contexts.
CLO 2) Students will identify key similarities and differences between the target language and culture and the student’s own.
CLO 3) Students will adapt appropriate cultural behaviors and attitudes when interacting with individuals from the target culture.
CLO 4) Students will describe how language and culture influence each other using examples from the target language.
CLO 5) Students will demonstrate respect and openness toward cultural perspectives different from one’s own through class discussions or reflective writing.
