ART 2700 - Introduction to Printmaking 3 Credit(s)
Introduction to basic traditional printmaking processes. It is assumed upon entrance that students have no prior printmaking knowledge. Processes covered include: Woodcut (black and white woodcut, color woodcut), Intaglio (etching, acquaint, drypoint), and Monotype.
Prereqs: ART 1200 or ART 1400 with a grade of C or better Course Type: Studio/Performance Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote CORE42 MOTR Number - Name: MOTR PERF 105GA - Studio Art - Graphic Arts Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will discover the evolution of the printmaking processes, from invention to its contemporary uses.
CLO 2) Students will explore basic printmaking methods and techniques including relief (linocut), intaglio (drypoint, etching), and planographic (monotype) processes.
CLO 3) Students will assemble a printmaking portfolio to showcase editions produced during the class.
CLO 4) Students will experience a variety of printmaking tools and techniques with an emphasis on proper use and efficient management.
CLO 5) Students will demonstrate creative and expressive visual problem-solving skills.
CLO 6) Students will participate in and contribute to all class discussions and critiques.
