ART 2560 - Jewelry II

Further exploration and refinement of metal fabrication processes as introduced in Jewelry I. Techniques may include soldering, jewelry scale casting, surface embellishment techniques, enameling techniques, hydraulic die forming and mechanism design to create jewelry and small scale objects.

Prereqs: ART 2550  with a grade of C or better

Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will continue to apply the basic jewelry and small metals fabrication techniques with an expectation of increasing the level of mastery and craftsmanship.
CLO 2) Students will begin to synthesize a versatility with materials and ideas through the practice of making jewelry pieces or small-scale sculptures as they explore personal vision.
CLO 3) Students will continue to apply basic soldering skills with greater dexterity and judgement.
CLO 4) Students will apply basic enameling skills.
CLO 5) Students will apply critical evaluation skills using art and design vocabulary.
CLO 6) Students will apply safe working practices and maintain a shared studio space.
