Introduction to computer systems with topics that include system components, data storage techniques, binary arithmetic, operating systems, device characteristics and programming.

CLO 1) Students will identify how computers can and do affect daily lives.
CLO 2) Students will explain the processing of data by a computer system.
CLO 3) Students will identify computer input, output and storage devices.
CLO 4) Students will describe the uses of system software and application software.
CLO 5) Students will prepare for careers which will require understanding of the computer, even if that job is not in Information Technology.
