Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will demonstrate an understanding of the foundations of the American political system, the workings of various U.S. political systems, and the principles of democracy.
CLO 2) Students will explain the process for selection and removal of the President, Congress and the Supreme Court.
CLO 3) Students will describe how interactions between the government and citizens create domestic and foreign policy.
CLO 4) Students will analyze the role of government in contemporary issues, such as abortion, gun control, social security and/or healthcare.
CLO 5) Students will demonstrate understanding of political ideology and how that shapes our views of the role of government.
CLO 6) Students will describe and evaluate the key concepts, including voting, political parties, campaigns, and other forms of political participation.
