In-depth exploration of the processes of creating art textiles. Draws upon contemporary and historical sources and personal imagery for expression using the fiber medium. Techniques include direct application of dyes and pigments with various resist methods, screen print processes, creating a dimensional fiber form, and exploring pattern structures. Students create within directed problems and develop abilities to verbalize ideas through conversations and critiques. Requirements before: ART 1200 or ART 1300 with a grade of C or better
