ART 2720 - Intaglio Printmaking 3 Credit(s)
This course is designed to build upon basic intaglio processes covered in Intro to Printmaking. Processes covered include: Color Intaglio (multiple plate, a la poupee), Engraving, Soft Ground, Sugar lift, Spit Bite, and Collagraph.
Prereqs: ART 2700 with a grade of C or better Course Type: Studio/Performance Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will further strengthen their understanding of intaglio printmaking as a fine art form and its historical/contemporary contexts.
CLO 2) Students will further explore the evolution of intaglio printmaking processes, from invention to contemporary uses through directed research.
CLO 3) Students will strengthen their command of intaglio printmaking methods and techniques with emphasis on engraving, multiplate, chinecollé, and collagraphy.
CLO 4) Students will expand their printmaking portfolio that represents their creative vision and command of intaglio printmaking techniques.
CLO 5) Students will learn to position their artwork within the context of art history and contemporary art practice.
CLO 6) Students will refine presentation and exhibition approaches and develop an understanding of professional practice.
