BUS 208 - Entrepreneurship/Small Business Management 3 Credit(s)
Study of small business and its importance in American economy. Analysis of problems of small business through use of case studies. Application of functions of management to small business environment, including personnel, finance, promotion, government relations, ethics, and insurance.
Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Online Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will explain the processes involved in business formation, including identifying opportunities, legal structures, and startup planning.
CLO 2) Students will evaluate the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship and small business ownership, including personal, financial, and market-based considerations.
CLO 3) Students will analyze various market entry strategies and assess customer acceptance and demand in different industries or target markets.
CLO 4) Students will identify and propose solutions to common barriers to entrepreneurship, such as access to capital, regulation, and resource limitations.
CLO 5) Students will apply foundational management, operations, and marketing principles to the planning and growth of a small business venture.
CLO 6) Students will develop and present a basic business plan or pitch that integrates opportunity recognition, market analysis, strategy, and financial planning.
