CAD 102 - Introduction to SolidWorks

3 Credit(s)

Uses the current version of SolidWorks software to introduce 3D design elements for creating parts, assemblies and engineering drawings. Applications are involved with basic parametric modeling related to the engineering design process using Design Intent. Basic 2D sketches are transformed into 3D parts. Those parts are modified and imported into assemblies which are then employed in custom drawing sheets.

Course Type: Lecture
Tuition Tier: Tier I
Delivery Method:
In-Person, Remote
Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will create basic 3-dimensional drawings and assemblies.
CLO 2) Students will explain the use of parametric modeling as it relates to parts, assemblies, and drawings.
CLO 3) Students will dimension 2-dimensional sketches and 2-dimensional drawings.
CLO 4) Students will apply rendering to 3-dimensional parts.
CLO 5) Students will describe the various layouts for creating 2-dimensional drawings.
