CPM 175 - Digital Media Publication ** 3 Credit(s)
Through this course, students are taught the techniques needed to design, layout, and produce information for the web using the most popular current graphics and publishing software. Students will learn to work with parent pages, object layers, color, typography, styles, tables, and transparency. Additionally, basic techniques for modifying graphics, creating proofs, form development, and electronic and online publishing will be covered. Computer literacy, including the understanding of file formats, file structure, and file storage are required. Students will also gain the requisite skills to pass the “Adobe Certified Professional in Print & Digital Media Using Adobe InDesign” certification should they choose to sit for the exam.
Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: In-Person, Online Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will identify tools, panels, and workspaces associated with the software.
CLO 2) Students will define and explain page publication terminology such as parent pages, spreads, headers, footers, and placeholder frames for text, graphics, and other elements.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate page layout guiding principles as they apply to working with objects and layers, graphics, color, typography. styles and transparency.
CLO 4) Students will create tables, forms, animation, and interactive elements for online publication.
CLO 5) Students will create and/or produce completed projects based on weekly and semester-long lessons using required software.
