CPM 210 - Digital Photo Editing **

Students learn techniques needed to correct, enhance and modify digital photos, create image composites, and prepare images for print or the web using the most popular current digital photo editing software Adobe Photoshop. Emphasis on vector drawing, video editing, mixing colors and painting, and preparing for printing on screen or in 3D. Computer literacy, including the understanding of file formats, file structure and file storage, are required.Students will also gain the requisite skills to pass the “Adobe Certified Professional in Visual Design Using Adobe Photoshop” certification should they choose to sit for the exam.

Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will identify the Photoshop tools, panels and layers.
CLO 2) Students will use various selection techniques on photographs including rotating, scaling, transforming, cropping and combining selections.
CLO 3) Students will use paint tools to create new artwork or apply painting techniques to photographs or bitmap images.
CLO 4) Students will create masks to isolate parts of an image and storing them in channels.
CLO 5) Students will use filters to create special effects.
CLO 6) Students will explore color theory, resolution and image size and prepare photographs for the Web.
