Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will describe the fundamental principles, terminology, and objectives of criminal investigation, including the roles of investigators and law enforcement agencies.
CLO 2) Students will apply proper procedures for securing a crime scene, collecting evidence, and maintaining chain of custody to ensure legal admissibility.
CLO 3) Students will analyze crime scene scenarios to identify potential evidence, reconstruct events, and determine investigative leads.
CLO 4) Students will differentiate between various types of evidence (e.g., physical, testimonial, digital) and evaluate their relevance and reliability in the investigative process.
CLO 5) Students will demonstrate effective interview and interrogation techniques using legal and ethical standards in simulated investigative contexts.
CLO 6) Students will formulate investigative reports that integrate evidence, witness statements, and investigative findings to support legal proceedings.
