ENG 203 - Self-Publishing Workshop 3 Credit(s)
Introduces students to the processes and procedures of book publishing from the industry side of the fence, from writing a call for submissions and a press mission statement to selecting and printing chosen manuscripts.
Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will design query and cover letters for submitting book-length work to publishers.
CLO 2) Students will describe the professional guidelines and parameters for submitting book-length manuscripts to literary presses.
CLO 3) Students will create original submission guidelines and practices for a literary press.
CLO 4) Students will design marketing materials to promote a published book.
CLO 5) Students will evaluate submitted manuscripts for potential publication.
