FRN 201 - French III - Language & Culture 4 Credit(s)
Follow up to French 102. Provides expanded opportunities for listening to, speaking, reading, and writing French. Continues exploration of culture, with emphasis on Francophone world. Emphasis remains on linguistic functioning in real situations.
Prereqs: FRN 102 with a passing grade or 1 1/2 to 2 years minimum high school language study. Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will understand spoken and recorded French on familiar topics by identifying main ideas and relevant details.
CLO 2) Students will translate simple French texts to determine key points and supporting details.
CLO 3) Students will develop messages, notes, or short letters in French for practical, real-life purposes.
CLO 4) Students will utilize spoken French to exchange basic personal information and navigate everyday situations in a Francophone setting.
CLO 5) Students will practice pronunciation and phonetic patterns to improve clarity and be understood by native speakers.
CLO 6) Students will recognize cultural aspects of France and other Francophone regions and relate them to one’s own language and culture.
