CLO 1) Student will explain the use of outpatient classification systems, clinical vocabularies, and nomenclatures, with emphasis on CPT coding guidelines.
CLO 2) Student will recognize assignment of diagnostic and procedural codes and groupings in accordance with official outpatient coding guidelines.
CLO 3) Student will describe components of revenue cycle management, clinical documentation improvement, and outpatient reimbursement methodologies.
CLO 4) Student will describe healthcare organizations from the perspective of key stakeholders and assess ethical standards of practice in outpatient coding.
