Emphasis on events in Missouri as a way to understand the development of America. Covers national trends and problems such as immigration,westward expansion, industrialization, and racial issues from the perspective of impact on Missouri. Examination of prominent Missourians is included. This course complies with provisions of Section 170.011 RsMo.

CLO 1) Students will identify the cultures present in Missouri prior to the sixteenth century CE (as demonstrated by discussion, written assignments and examination.)
CLO 2) Students will describe the contributions/impact made by notable individuals in the evolution of Missouri (as demonstrated by discussion, written assignments and examination.)
CLO 3) Students will assess various written assignments, projects and examinations using the required reading material, appropriate internet sources, and any other acceptable scholarly source (as demonstrated by discussion, written assignments and examination.).
CLO 4) Students will identify the role Missouri has played in the development of the United States (as demonstrated by discussion, written assignments and examination.)
CLO 5) Students will identify processes and impact of Missouri’s Constitutional history.
