MFG 220 - Principles of Maintenance Awareness ** 3 Credit(s)
Provides insights into basics of good maintenance practices through an understanding of electrical, mechanical and fluid power systems. Students will have an opportunity to sit for the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council Maintenance Awareness module certification test for an additional fee. Students will be awarded the certificate if successful on the exam.
Prereqs: MFG 111 and MFG 201 with a passing grade Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will apply basic maintenance terminology in manufacturing related communications.
CLO 2) Students will explain machine basics such as lubrication, inspections and normal operation.
CLO 3) Students will explain the maintenance process and apply basic troubleshooting techniques.
CLO 4) Students will explain appropriate safety measures in the maintenance environment.
CLO 5) Students will compare the basics of mechanical, electrical and fluid systems.
