POL 102 - State and Local Government 3 Credit(s)
Examines structure, functions and operation of American state and local government within context of federalism. POL 102 complies with provisions of Section 170.011 RsMo.
Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote, Online, Service Learning Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will explain the basic workings of government on the state and local level.
CLO 2) Students will explain and discuss the major policy issues that dominate our political discourse, and understand how the political structures of government respond to these issues.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate knowledge of how the actions of government affect our daily lives, and how we as citizens can in turn influence our government.
