Beginning Spanish course that presents basic language skills of speaking, listening comprehension, reading and writing, with emphasis on effective linguistic functioning in real situations. Opportunity provided for audio-lingual practice outside of class.

CLO 2) Students will interpret simple non-literary Spanish texts, such as dialogues, menus, signs, and short paragraphs, to obtain key information.
CLO 3) Students will deveop short descriptive and narrative compositions in Spanish using guided prompts.
CLO 4) Students will apply present and present progressive tense forms of selected Spanish verbs with at least 75% accuracy.
CLO 5) Students will identify key cultural aspects of Mexico and the Caribbean within the broader context of Hispanic culture.
