SPN 201 - Spanish III - Language & Culture 4 Credit(s)
Follow up to SPN 102 . Provides expanded opportunities for listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Opportunity provided for audio-lingual practice outside of class.
Prereqs: SPN 102 or 1 1/2 to 2 years minimum high school language study. A grade of C or better in the prerequisite course is recommended. Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will utilize increasingly advanced Spanish vocabulary and structures to communicate in full sentences and short paragraphs.
CLO 2) Students will develop connected sentences in Spanish by recombining previously learned vocabulary and grammar.
CLO 3) Students will apply appropriate responses to spoken Spanish in personal and social situations.
CLO 4) Students will demonstrate comprehension of written Spanish texts through spoken or written responses.
CLO 5) Students will understand temporal references (past, present, future) and mood distinctions (indicative vs. subjunctive) in spoken and written Spanish.
CLO 6) Students will recognize key cultural practices and perspectives in Spanish-speaking communities.
