An introduction to the complexities of stage makeup. Utilizing “hands-on” approach, students will become familiar with basic makeup procedures and techniques and will apply the techniques through a series of projects.

Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will recognize and utilize basic stage makeup vocabulary.
CLO 2) Students will demonstrate the proper use of makeup equipment and materials.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate an understanding of the effect of light and shadow on facial features and an understanding of color choices and intensity levels in various venues.
CLO 4) Students will demonstrate an ability to design a variety of makeup styles.
CLO 5) Students will research a character and create a makeup specific for that role.
CLO 6) Students will develop self-awareness and methods of self-critique.
