THE 221 - Introduction to Costuming

An introduction to the fundamental principles and techniques of costume design and construction for the stage. Basic design aspects, maintenance, and sewing techniques are emphasized.

Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will demonstrate the basic skills and safe practices of costume technology. These skills will include hand sewing, machine sewing, and costume crafts.
CLO 2) Students will demonstrate the basic costume design processes from conceptualization to realization.
CLO 3) Students will understand the scope of the costume process, including the various people involved, their roles, and the planning which costume creation requires.
CLO 4) Students will participate in the process of running wardrobe for a theatrical production.
