CPM 285 - Short Form Video Production (Non-Fiction) 3 Credit(s)
This practical video production course focuses on creating short non-fiction content such as advertisements, documentaries, and instructional videos. These skills prepare students to work in a variety of production and communications roles. Students explore the entire production process, from pre-production through post-production and distribution, for creating non-fictional media. Course provides hands-on experience with video, audio, lighting, and editing equipment.
Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will analyze the needs of a non-fiction video concept.
CLO 2) Students will create pre-production products, such as 2-column A/V style scripts and schedules, to facilitate a non-fiction production.
CLO 3) Students will evaluate stock material, such as photos and graphical assets, for their inclusion in a non-fiction production.
CLO 4) Students will produce primary and B-roll video footage.
CLO 5) Students will develop additional motion graphics to enhance a video.
CLO 6) Students will discuss the technical and legal requirements for the distribution of non-fiction work.
