CDL 103 - Practical Driver Training Principles & Application I 2 Credit(s)
This course provides comprehensive training on pre-trip and post-trip inspections, identifying safety concerns, and meeting the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) criteria for passing the pre-trip portion of the Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) exam. The course introduces behind-the-wheel activities and maneuvers necessary to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License. Participants will learn to shift gears safely and properly, and develop the skills needed to control their vehicle in and out of traffic and around facilities with similar equipment. Ready participants will also begin maneuvering on public roadways. Students must obtain their Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) to enroll in this course.
Course Type: Combo Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, identifying safety concerns and ensuring compliance with Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) criteria.
CLO 2) Students will demonstrate proficiency in safely controlling and maneuvering a commercial vehicle through a simulated skills course.
CLO 3) Students will identify and name the major components of a commercial vehicle accurately.
CLO 4) Students will apply safe driving techniques to navigate various scenarios on a simulated skills course.
