CDL 104 - Practical Driver Training Principles & Application II 2 Credit(s)
This course includes intermediate behind the wheel activities and maneuvers for Commercial Driver’s License (CDL). Participants will continue to work on the safety associated with the pre & post trip inspections, improve their control of the vehicle on the range, and master the skills needed to pass the skills portion of the CDL exam meeting the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) criteria for the skills portion of the exam. Participants will continue logging more time behind the wheel on public roadways and driving more challenging routes. Students must obtain their Commercial Learner’s Permit (CLP) to enroll in this course.
Course Type: Combo Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will identify and describe the functions of major commercial vehicle components, including the ability to explain potential damage to these parts.
CLO 2) Students will perform a comprehensive commercial vehicle pre-trip inspection, ensuring all safety and operational standards are met.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate proficiency in executing four key maneuvers (Straight line back, Forward stop, Reverse offset, and Forward offset) on a simulator.
CLO 4) Students will apply the proper technique for double clutching a commercial vehicle on a simulator.
