MCH 125 - Inspection Quality Assurance 3 Credit(s)
This course focuses on the principles and practices of quality control, emphasizing the accurate inspection of machined parts using mechanical drawings and precision measuring tools. Students will gain hands-on experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) and other inspection equipment to ensure parts meet strict tolerance specifications.
Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will measure objects accurately within tolerance using precision measurement instruments.
CLO 2) Students will promote a culture of safety in the machine shop area.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in measurement, materials, and safety, meeting the standards required to pass the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Certification test.
CLO 4) Students will maintain all tools and equipment, including proper set up and breakdown of machines.
CLO 5) Students will explain applied practices of advanced manual machining procedures. Includes a more in-depth application of safety, lathe usage, vertical milling machines, and outside diameter (OD) grinding machines.
