Introduction to Mill & Lathe CNC Operations provides foundational knowledge and practical skills in setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes. Students will learn to program and machine small parts using G Codes, focusing on precision and adherence to specified tolerances.

Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will organize and select tool changers, tool storage, tool offsets, special tooling, and fixturing.

CLO 2) Students will create and program basic machine parts using G Codes.

CLO 3) Students will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge and practical skills in measurement, materials, and safety, meeting the standards required to pass the National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) Certification test.

CLO 4) Students will demonstrate comprehensive knowledge on machine setup, tool setting, loading of the program, and machining of the part.

CLO 5) Students will promote a culture of safety in the machine shop area.

CLO 6) Students will calculate appropriate speeds and feeds for various machining operations.
