HVAC 101 - Refrigerant Handling/EPA 608 **

Prepares individuals with a basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration to successfully pass an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) approved certification exam. This exam will allow the individual to work in the refrigeration and air conditioning industry. Students in this course will be eligible to sit for ESCO EPA 608 certification. Students who are successful in passing the exam will earn certification.

CLO 1) Students will prepare for the EPA 608 exam by explaining the Clean Air Act and EPA regulations governing refrigerant use and practicing sample questions.

CLO 2) Students will demonstrate proper procedures for safely recovering, recycling, and reclaiming refrigerants.
