PLB 120 - Water Supply Systems 3 Credit(s)
This course introduces students to the principles, design, installation, and maintenance of water supply systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Topics include sources of potable water, distribution methods, pressure regulation, backflow prevention, and compliance with plumbing codes and standards. Students will gain practical skills in system layout, pipe sizing, material selection, and troubleshooting common water supply issues. Emphasis is placed on safety, efficiency, and sustainability in delivering clean water to fixtures and appliances.

CLO 2) Student will identify and select appropriate piping materials, valves, and fittings for water distribution.
CLO 3) Student will calculate pipe sizing and water pressure requirements for various building types.
CLO 4) Student will design and lay out water supply systems using technical drawings and specifications.
CLO 5) Student will install and connect water supply piping systems following industry best practices and safety guidelines.
CLO 6) Student will apply methods of backflow prevention and cross‑connection control.
