This course prepares students to guide children and young adults in exploring the arts through spontaneous and imaginative dramatic expression. Emphasizing techniques such as sensory awareness, movement, rhythm, mime, character development, improvisation, storytelling, and story dramatization, students will learn to foster cognitive and creative growth in educational settings. Through the study of the history and methods of Creative Drama, students will design and implement lesson plans tailored for K-12 classrooms. The course equips future educators with the tools to use drama as a powerful medium for engagement, expression, and development in young learners.

CLO 1) Students will describe the principles and history of Creative Drama and its role in child and adolescent development.

CLO 3) Students will create Creative Drama lesson plans tailored to diverse K-12 classroom or studio settings.
