THE 214 - Devised Theatre

This course introduces students to the exciting world of devised theatre-creating original performances as a group. Instead of starting with a script, students will use improvisation, storytelling, movement, and collaboration to build new theatre pieces from scratch. Students will explore how to turn ideas, images, and real-life stories into a live performance. The class includes hands-on workshops, group projects, and a final performance of original work created by the class.

CLO 1) Students will identify key concepts and practices in devised theatre, including ensemble collaboration, improvisation, and non-script-based creation.
