This course emphasizes professional workplace behaviors, tool safety, and equipment operation and maintenance essential for success in the horticulture industry. Students will engage in hands-on labs, equipment demonstrations, safety simulations, and industry certification preparation. By the end of the course, students will have developed the technical skills and professional habits expected by employers and will earn the NC3 Snap-on Horticulture certification demonstrating competency in tool identification, safe operation, and maintenance procedures.
Course Type: Combo Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will demonstrate professional workplace behaviors expected in the horticulture industry, including punctuality, communication, teamwork, personal responsibility, and adherence to employer expectations.
CLO 2) Students will apply safety protocols for the selection, operation, and storage of hand and power tools commonly used in horticulture settings in alignment with OSHA standards and industry best practices.
CLO 3) Students will perform routine maintenance and inspection procedures on horticulture hand and power tools to ensure safe operation, extend equipment life, and minimize workplace downtime.
CLO 4) Students will demonstrate competency in tool identification, proper use, safety practices, and maintenance as assessed through the NC3 credentialing process.
