The Electrician AAS program provides students with the technical knowledge, hands-on skills, and professional certifications required to pursue careers as electricians in residential, commercial and industrial settings. Through a blend of classroom theory and supervised lab/shop work, students will learn to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, and controls. Emphasis is placed on the reading and interpretation of blueprints and schematics, application of the National Electrical Code (NEC), safe work practices, electrical theory (AC/DC), motor controls, conduit bending and installation, lighting and power distribution, and emerging technologies such as renewable energy and low-voltage systems. Graduates will earn certifications through the Occupational Safety and Heath Administration (OSHA), as well as NC3 certifications.

Graduates will be prepared for entry-level electrician roles and will have the foundation to pursue licensure, apprenticeships, journeyman advancement, or developmental roles. The curriculum aligns with industry needs and is supported by advisory committees comprised of active electricians and contractors, ensuring relevancy and employment readiness.
