GDS 260 - Animation & Motion Graphics 3 Credit(s)
In this studio format course students will learn the basics of motion graphics and animation through completion of project-oriented experiences that may include movie/tv show titles, kinetic typography, commercials, info graphics and animated shorts.
Prereqs: GDS 105 and GDS 230 with a grade of C or better Course Type: Studio Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will construct storyboards/visual narratives.
CLO 2) Students will write concept treatments and design style frames.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate the basics of motion graphics software including proper timeline setup, usage of toolset, usage of filters and shortcut usage.
CLO 4) Students will import source materials including video clips, layered photoshop/illustrator files, audio files and image sequences.
CLO 5) Students will demonstrate basics of animation including keyframing, animation curves and realistic vs stylized motion.
CLO 6) Students will implement motion design techniques including motion typography, image composites, and 2 Dimensional vs 3 Dimensional movement.
