BIO 280 - Nutrition Pathways 3 Credit(s)
Scientific study of the essential nutrients and their function in the body. Recommended nutrient intakes, diet assessments and planning, relationships between diet and health will also be covered.
Prereqs: BIO 260 /BIO 260L with a grade of C or better Co-reqs: BIO 261 /BIO 261L Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote, Online Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will describe the major macronutrients and micronutrients required for the human body.
CLO 2) Students will demonstrate how to analyze a healthy eating plan by studying various food guides and diet analysis tools.
CLO 3) Students will illustrate knowledge of the digestive system related to human nutrition and metabolism.
CLO 4) Students will apply concepts of human nutrition to clinical situations, including weight loss, fitness, life cycle, disease and societal issues.
