EXS 110 - Introduction to Exercise Physiology 3 Credit(s)
This course focuses on the principles of exercise science applied to fitness instruction. The major factors related to the function of the human body will be examined/introduced with an emphasis on exercise physiology and functional anatomy.
Co-reqs: EXS 100 Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will assess work, power and energy costs of a given exercise task.
CLO 2) Students will recall homeostatic regulation within the human body.
CLO 3) Students will identify physiological responses and adaptations to a given exercise using an understanding of the structure, function, and mechanics of body systems.
CLO 4) Students will explain physiological responses and adaptations to various environmental conditions, including heat, cold, and altitude using an understanding of the structure, function, and mechanics of body systems.
CLO 5) Students will describe the relationship between the physiologic responses to exercise and athletic performance and health.
CLO 6) Students will recognize movement patterns and posture utilizing and understanding of the structure, function and mechanics of the musculoskeletal system.
