EXS 220 - Resistance Training Recovery Techniques 3 Credit(s)
This course focuses on the fundamental methods for safe and effective instruction of resistance and functional movement training exercises. Applications of fundamental principles and kinesiology. An overview of warm-up, cooldown, and recovery techniques will be explored.
Prereqs: EXS 110 Course Type: Combo Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will assess physiological and neuromuscular responses and adaptations to resistance and functional movement exercises.
CLO 2) Students will design individual and group evidence-based functional movement and resistance training sessions for apparently healthy adults, athletic populations, and special populations.
CLO 3) Students will create evidence-based warm-ups, cooldowns, and recovery techniques that achieve the desired physiological response for a given physical activity.
CLO 4) Students will conduct evidence-based assessments of participants prior to exercise participation according to industry standards.
CLO 5) Students will utilize safe instructional techniques to lead and manage small groups that are responsive to client needs and optimize motor learning and maximize instructional time.
CLO 6) Students will demonstrate industry accepted professional and ethical behavior in applying motivational strategies that optimize physical activity adherence.
