EXS 225 - Cardiorespiratory Flexibility Training 3 Credit(s)
This course is designed to follow the principles of integrated cardiorespiratory fitness and fitness training to include evaluation of client needs and goals, assessment of cardiorespiratory fitness, selection and interpretation of assessment techniques, and evidence-based program design for healthy and special populations.
Prereqs: EXS 110 Course Type: Combo Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will assess physiological and neuromuscular responses to cardiorespiratory and flexibility exercise.
CLO 2) Students will conduct evidence-based assessments of participants prior to exercise participation according to industry standards.
CLO 3) Students will design both individual and small group evidence-based cardiorespiratory and flexibility training sessions for apparently healthy adults, athletic populations, and special populations.
CLO 4) Students will create evidence-based warm-up and cool-down programs that achieve the desired physiological and neuromuscular response for a given physical activity.
CLO 5) Students will demonstrate proper techniques for a variety of cardiorespiratory and flexibility exercises while instructing a instructing both an individual and a small group.
CLO 6) Students will demonstrate industry accepted professional and ethical behavior in applying motivational strategies that optimize physical activity adherence.
