FRN 215 - Reading in French 3 Credit(s)
Reading and discussion of various short selections and at least one complete work in the original French. Reading strategies specific to French language including vocabulary building, reading for comprehension, and use of literary tenses.
Prereqs: FRN 201 with a passing grade or two years minimum high school language study. Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will recognize vocabulary commonly used in literary texts and everyday French language.
CLO 2) Students will understand the meaning and structure of written French texts representing various literary styles.
CLO 3) Students will apply knowledge of literary tenses in reading comprehension and writing assignments.
CLO 4) Students will compare structural features of French and English to improve linguistic awareness and precision.
CLO 5) Students will develop short compositions and responses that demonstrate comprehension and appropriate use of vocabulary and grammar.
CLO 6) Students will produce oral or written projects in French based on assigned readings and personal reflection.
