IT 130 - Introduction to Linux 3 Credit(s)
An introduction to Linux operating systems. This is the first of two classes required to prepare for the Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) certification (IT 130 and IT 230 ). Uses Red Hat Academy curricula.
Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will install various Linux distributions including Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), CentOS, and Ubuntu.
CLO 2) Students will create, view, and edit text files, and use the help systems built into Linux.
CLO 3) Students will manage local users and groups, processes, services, and daemons.
CLO 4) Students will analyze logs and configure networking.
CLO 5) Students will archive and copy files, and install and update software packages.
CLO 6) Students will use virtualized systems.
