MAT 210 - Survey Calculus

Recommended for business, life sciences, and social science majors. Focus on techniques of differential and integral calculus with application to business, life sciences, and social sciences. Trigonometry not used.

Prereqs: MAT 158  with a grade of C or better or placement into MAT 210

Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will find derivatives using the basic limit definition, power rule, product rule, quotient rule, chain rule, implicit differentiation, exponential and logarithmic functions.
CLO 2) Students will analyze the derivatives of a function to sketch its graph.
CLO 3) Students will solve problems involving increments, differentials, related rates, marginal analysis, and growth and decay.
CLO 4) Students will evaluate integrals using substitution and integration by parts.
CLO 5) Students will use partial derivatives to analyze a function of two or more variables.
CLO 6) Students will evaluate double integrals over rectangular regions.
