MAT 168 - Trigonometry 3 Credit(s)
Study of trigonometric functions and applications. Topics include angles, length of arc, trigonometric functions, law of cosines, law of sines, identities, trigonometric equations, inverse trigonometric functions, complex numbers, and polar coordinates. Students may not receive credit for both MAT 168 and MAT 171 .
Prereqs: MAT 158 with a grade of C or better or place into MAT 210 Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Base Delivery Method: In-Person, Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will demonstrate an understanding of the properties of angles, of basic trigonometric functions, and of inverse trigonometric functions.
CLO 2) Students will use and verify trigonometric identities.
CLO 3) Students will identify important properties of the graphs of trigonometric functions.
CLO 4) Students will solve equations involving trigonometric functions.
CLO 5) Students will solve for missing lengths or angles of oblique triangles.
CLO 6) Students will use Vectors in 2-Dimensional Space.
