WLD 141 - Flux Cored Arc Welding I **

In this course students will learn the basic skills and knowledge needed to set up Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) equipment, choose appropriate electrodes, and perform FCAW-G/GM and FCAW-S operations on carbon fuel. Students will have an opportunity to sit for the American Welding Society (AWS) certifications tests. Students will be awarded the certificate if successful on the exams. 

Prereqs: WLD 101 , WLD 111 , and WLD 121  with a passing grade

Course Learning Outcomes:
CLO 1) Students will define and describe the hazards associated with FCAW welding.

CLO 2) Students shall define and describe the importance of the PPE required for the FCA Welding.

CLO 3) Students will describe and define the importance of Ventilation systems.

CLO 4) Students will prepare, fabricate and weld two projects for a practical exam which may include destructive testing to insure a sound weld.
