This course is focused on the principles and practices of Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) using a 3-Axis CNC Mill. This course provides students with the foundational skills needed to set up and program CNC mills, converting designs into machine code to manufacture precise three-dimensional parts. Emphasis is placed on accuracy and adherence to specified tolerances.
Prereqs: MCH 150 Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will set up a 3-Axis CNC Mill, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specified tolerances.
CLO 2) Students will program CNC mills using computer software to convert designs into machine code for manufacturing precise three-dimensional parts.
CLO 3) Students will manufacture three-dimensional parts through hands-on projects, demonstrating foundational skills in Computer Aided Manufacturing.
CLO 4) Students will analyze CNC programs to identify and correct errors, ensuring optimal machine performance and part accuracy.
