PLB 110 - Drainage, Waste, & Vent Systems 3 Credit(s)
This course provides students with a comprehensive understanding of the design, installation, and maintenance of drainage, waste, and vent (DWV) systems in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. Emphasis is placed on plumbing codes, system layout, material selection, and troubleshooting techniques. Students will gain hands-on experience with DWV system components, learn to interpret technical drawings, and apply safety standards to ensure proper system function and compliance with regulations. By the end of the course, students will be prepared to integrate DWV systems into complete plumbing installations with confidence and professionalism.

CLO 2) Student will interpret plumbing codes and standards related to DWV system design and installation.
CLO 3) Student will select appropriate materials, fittings, and tools for DWV system construction.
CLO 4) Student will design and layout DWV systems using technical drawings and specifications.
CLO 5) Student will install and connect DWV piping systems following industry best practices and safety guidelines.
CLO 6) Student will troubleshoot and repair common DWV system issues such as blockages, leaks, and improper venting.
