CPT 235 - Understanding Big Data with Apache Spark

Introduction to Apache Spark and its use in analyzing big data with algorithms written in Python. Perform statistical data analysis, data visualization, predictive modeling, and build scalable data products or solutions. Also introduces R and Scala as alternate development languages.

CLO 1) Students will analyze the challenges in Big Data and how Apache Spark can solve these problems.

CLO 4) Students will source required data and select the appropriate algorithms.
CLO 5) Students will evaluate visualization techniques and unstructured data.
CLO 6) Students will create production quality applications.
