CPT 188 - JavaScript Programming 3 Credit(s)
In this course, students will learn how to use JavaScript to interact with users, modify the Document Object Model (DOM), control program flow, validate forms, animate images, create cookies, and dynamically change HTML/XHTML content. They will also explore JavaScript libraries, incorporate AJAX into their JavaScript code, communicate with databases, and learn techniques for debugging and troubleshooting JavaScript.
Prereqs: CPT 135 or CPT 165 with a passing grade Course Type: Lecture Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: Online Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will demonstrate high level competency with client-side technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
CLO 2) Students will write valid code in accordance with the standardized grammar, vocabulary, and syntax of JavaScript.
CLO 3) Students will use JavaScript functions to add dynamic characteristics to web pages.
CLO 4) Students will develop web pages that accept and process data using forms and implement error-checking methods.
CLO 5) Students will design intuitive navigation structures.
CLO 6) Students will develop and utilize advanced programming techniques to enhance web functionality.
