NPN 172 - Practical Nursing Across the Lifespan III Clinical 0 Credit(s)
Builds on knowledge gained in NPN 171 - Practical Nursing Across the Lifespan II Clinical. Students plan, administer, and evaluate nursing care to patients in preceptorship, providing a transition between student and practitioner. Students plan, prioritize, administer and evaluate nursing care for patients in speciality units and medical-surgical units during simulation.
Prereqs: NPN 151 Co-reqs: NPN 152 & NPN 162 Course Type: Clinical Tuition Tier: Tier III Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will demonstrate therapeutic communication and cultural considerations in providing holistic care to diverse populations.
CLO 2) Students will apply the Clinical Judgement Measurement Model to multiple assigned patients in the clinical setting to medium acuity patient needs.
CLO 3) Students will perform interventions safely in the clinical setting.
CLO 4) Students will participate in interdisciplinary patient care.
CLO 5) Students will perform professionally within ethical and legal guidelines in the clinical setting.
CLO 6) Students will utilize informatics and technology to enhance patient care and health care management.
