NUR 113 - Fundamentals of Professional Nursing Lab 0 Credit(s)
Students gain comprehensive knowledge and ability to safely and accurately perform nursing skills in a safe learning environment using multi-media, textbooks, self-direction, demonstrations, and lab staff assistance. Included: hygiene, vital signs, personal protective equipment, sterile gloving, mobility, medication administration, IV fluid therapy, injections, urinary catheters, fundamental medication math. Theory topics are reinforced through hands-on application.
Prereqs: Admission into the ADN program & BIO 260L Co-reqs: NUR 103 & NUR 123 Course Type: Lab Tuition Tier: Tier III Delivery Method: In-Person Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will demonstrate proficiency in the following nursing skills: hygiene, vital signs, personal protective equipment, sterile gloving, mobility, medication administration, IV fluid therapy, injections, urinary catheters.
CLO 2) Students will demonstrate hands-on application of of nursing skills, incorporating theoretical nursing knowledge and the Clinical Judgment Measurement Model.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate proficiency in fundamental medication mathematics skills and medication administration.
