MDA 129 - Clinical Externship 4 Credit(s)
In this course students will have health-related work-based learning experiences that enable students to apply specialized occupational theory, skills, and concepts in a real-life setting. Direct supervision is provided by the clinical preceptor in an outpatient setting.
Prereqs: MDA 107 & MDA 108 Co-reqs: MDA 109 Course Type: Clinical Tuition Tier: Tier I Delivery Method: Remote Course Learning Outcomes: CLO 1) Students will apply entry-level clinical and administrative skills with confidence and accuracy in the healthcare setting.
CLO 2) Students will utilize respectful and effective communication with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals in the healthcare setting.
CLO 3) Students will demonstrate effective safety practices by identifying potential risks, utilizing personal protective equipment appropriately and following established safety protocols in the healthcare setting.
CLO 4) Students will reflect on clinical experiences, identifying professional strengths and areas of improvement.
